Kevin Smith Just Flipped The Bird To The Reaper

Kevin Smith had a massive heart attack and Mr. Reaper was standing next to him on stage waiting to punch his ticket! Kevin decided to give Death the middle finger that night.f off reaper

Why Kevin Smith Is So Important

We nearly lost one of the most talented writers and comedic minds of this century because Kevin Smith
spent years with a weight problem and then a fraction of those years losing some of the weight.

This post is not about the health issues of Smith but rather about how admired and beloved he is in the
entertainment industry.

Yes I am a fan. But he’s built a fan base that is not only regular schmo’s like me but also by big celebrity “A” list celebs  like Chris Pratt, Ben Affleck and countless others.

Who Is Kevin Smith?

If you never heard of Kevin Smith before, then you are likely not into superhero comic stuff, films like “Clerks” which waskevin smith his break out directorial movie back in the late 90’s .

Smith is a comic book geek first and formost. I started to follow his work from when he was a comic book writer on
Green Arrow, Daredevil, Spider-Man and Black cat mini-series and a few others.

His style of writing has always been somewhat different from anyone else in the sense of how most of it is in dialog in storytelling
His use of pop culture reference and double entendras for humor and dynamics of character building always seemed to flow so smoothly.

Basically his stuff is fun to read, period.

When he began his film career back in the mid 90’s his quirky and offbeat style of movie making created a loyal cult
following that built a massive fan base unlike any other.

Personally, I was more a fan of Smith himself than his films.

Kevin Smith Writes Like He Speaks

Don’t get me wrong, he has directed a few very well written and critically acclaimed movies, but for me his ability to stand on a stage in front of a theater full of people and talk about his experiences dealing with Hollywood and colleagues in the acting business is pure gold!

He is a master storyteller at his finest

A few years back Smith did a tour of colleges throughout the USA where it was just him(for the most part) on
stage talking about his journey to Hollywood, the wackiness of some of the actors and producers he encountered and
his struggles of how to fit into that whole scene.

He is a superb storyteller like no other.

The hilarious and sometimes profound stories about people he worked with
, like Bruce Willis, Hollywood producers like Jon Peters.

His time spent working with Prince and his friendships with Ben Affleck and numerous others in the industry.

His style of course, like his writing usually is full of sexual induendos and funny situations from his point of view
and the ability to engage an audience in a way that makes everyone feel like they are his best bud.

Just hanging out telling stories, having conversations everyone can easily relate to.

His best stuff, funniest encounters that I personally enjoyed the most were his stories about
meeting Prince, working with Bruce Willis and being hired to write the “Superman Lives” movie script.

that ultimately spins off a bunch of hilarious stories within it about a particular movie producer who really didn’t “get Superman”, encounters with Tim Burton the offbeat Director and someone named “Bumble Ward”.

These are the moments of gold that inspire the average dreamer to believe that, hey if Kevin Smith made it big, so can I!

At the time of writing this post, Kevin Smith had just checked himself into a hospital right after doing one of his
shows and instead of doing a second show that was scheduled he actually decided to cancel because he wasn’t feeling well.

Once checked into the hospital and a series of tests later discovered he had cheated death by mere moments.

Had he gone on with that second appearance the likelyhood that he would die right there on stage was thwarted
by his common sense to know when you feel something is not right, it usually means that something is wrong.

I’m happy that Kevin cancelled that show to ensure he would be around many more years to
tell his stories to millions of inspired dreamers.

Darren Heslip started creating websites back in 2006. Really bad looking websites that were pretty much for the sole purpose of making a full time income online. That plan was a long and bumpy, gravel potholed road that finally smoothed out somewhat 8 years later. Fast forward a couple more years and "Forget Plan b" was originally to be an affiliate site but turned into a blog instead. The blog's name was from something one of Darren's mentors would say all the time. "If you are starting your own business from home and you've thought about a plan B in case it goes badly, then you have already set yourself up to fail. So delete plan B. There is only plan A." That principle still applies to Forget Plan b blog, but at times other topics are explored here.

I think that what you typed made a bunch of
sense. But, what about this? what if you composed a catchier post
title? I mean, I don’t wish to tell you
how to run your website, but what if you added a
title that makes people want more? I mean Kevin Smith
Just Flipped The Bird To The Reaper – Forget Plan b
is a little plain. You might glance at Yahoo’s home page and note how they write news titles to get viewers to open the links.

You might add a video or a pic or two to get readers excited about what you’ve
got to say. In my opinion, it would bring your
website a little bit more interesting.
